We had an amazing donation to the American Cancer Society in July of 2015 and it brought in a generous amount in for the charity.

We had an amazing donation to the American Cancer Society in July of 2015 and it brought in a generous amount in for the charity.

The 2011 Land Rover LR2 is said to be one of the smallest SUV’s in the Land Rover family of its time, with a combined EPA of 18mpg, 22mpg highway and 15mpg city.

The LR2 that was donated only had 4,211 miles on it, so it has plenty of miles to go.

Even though it is one of the smallest SUVs of the lineup, it still has a towing capability of 3,500 lbs. It is a SUV/Crossover but doesn’t scream either one by the looks of it. It has a 230 HP 3.2 L 6-cylinder engine that pushes out 234 lb-ft torque. It is still a fun little SUV to drive. It has seating for five people with adult sized seating in the back. Making it more comfortable due to the ample amounts of leg room. You won’t have to worry about playing footsies with the person next to you.

Another great thing about the LR2 is that it is all wheel drive, and if you live in New England, or anywhere else that gets lots of snow, then you know this is something that most look for in a car/SUV. The only downfalls for the LR2 are that the gas mileage is a bit low but not a super gas guzzler and it isn’t an expert at climbing vertical hills or driving over boulders. But if you aren’t trying to climb a mountain with the LR2 then you have nothing to worry about. It can handle a little bit of off-roading so if you need to get through a field then it will be able to push through it without an issue.

I have been able to drive one of the LR2’s and to be honest, I didn’t hate it. I am not an SUV fan but the comfort level and the size was perfect, which is why it made it to the list of SUVs I would buy. It has a smaller feel so you don’t get that whole “I’m driving an SUV” feeling, but at the same time you don’t feel like you’re driving a car.

1 out of 3 people will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime. Rather than selling or trading in your used car, truck, SUV, motorcycle, RV, or boat on a trailer, consider donating it the American Cancer Society. Your car donation will help save lives that might otherwise be lost to the disease. ~The American Cancer Society.
