Honda Civic Tops the 2014 List for UNICEF

Realizing he could support valuable programs and services by making a car donation to charity, a New York man did just that with his 2010 Hybrid Honda Civic in hopes of providing valuable funds for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s worthy programs.  What he didn’t realize was his donation would be the organization’s top-grossing vehicle donation for 2014!

What led to it secure the highest grossing title?  The vehicle had a lot going for it; it arrived in great condition so was evidently well taken care of, had low mileage, and was an early model.  These conditions bid well for vehicle resales, and this Civic was clearly no exception.  Could the fact that it was a hybrid have also contributed to the high resale?  Possibly, although debatable as more efficiencies were introduced in the next generation and there are just as many consumers who are in favor of hybrids as are not in favor.

Bottom line, through his admirable generosity and a little preparation, one man made a huge impact on the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, the organization that will do whatever it takes to save and protect the world’s most vulnerable children.
