Since 2014, August has been associated with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and its ability to not only raise funds but also awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.  Since this viral challenge hit the internet by storm it has already raised $115 million dollars.  It has helped fund the discovery of a new Gene NEK1, giving researchers a new target for possible treatments.

ARS was proud to participate in this challenge and help raise awareness for such a great organization that is leading the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy.  We are excited to support them by taking part in the Walk to Defeat ALS on September 17th.  If you didn’t participate in the Ice Bucket Challenge there are still plenty of other ways to support this cause by finding a walk near you, donating stock or even donating your car.
